Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep a local log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and manage the exchange. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers automatically receive basic technical details about the visit:
- Page-view times and the pages visited
- Device type and operating system
- The referring website, when available
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
- Approximate time spent on a page
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files used to understand traffic patterns, including popular pages and where visits end. Analytics services combine that activity into reports. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Sevier County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its material identifies official routes such as the Sevier County sheriff and courts, Utah BCI, and the Utah Sex, Kidnap, and Child Abuse Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules apply to anything submitted through those tools. Review the provider's policy first because those practices are outside our control.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to court portals, sheriff pages, Utah agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for targeted ads. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information can reach:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a submitted query
- Advertising networks placing material on a page
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable standard safeguards protect collected information. No internet-connected service can promise perfect security, so a breach can never be ruled out.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be deleted after notice.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary by residence. Utah's Government Records Access and Management Act, Title 63G Chapter 2, governs government records, while Utah Code §53-10-108 restricts state criminal-history dissemination. Those laws do not turn this private resource into a government custodian. For data held directly by us, a person may:
- Request deletion of data we hold
- Ask what personal data is on file
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Opt out of eligible processing activities
